Not the best images of a pileated woodpecker, but they are my first and I am excited. I have been wanting to capture one (digitally) for a long time.

We went for a walk at Leesylvania State Park today with my 28-300mm not expecting much. Then, heard the familiar loud tapping of a woodpecker way up in the top of a very tall tree, and it stayed long enough to get these shots. Wish I had my 80-400 and a tripod, but at least I got some halfway decent shots.
